Celebration of ITEC Day 2021

Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Day 2021 was celebrated at the Embassy of India on 16th September, 2021.

Ambassador Alok Ranjan Jha in his address highlighted various elements of capacity building programs provided by India through trainings/scholarships under ITEC and ICCR.  He invited suggestions from the ITEC Alumni to further enhance the benefits and reach of ITEC and ICCR programs in Belarus.

The Guests of Honor on this occasion were Mr. Victor Aliferenko and Mr. Valentin Baranov, who were the first two ITEC Alumni from Belarus.

The two Guests of Honor and other ITEC Alumni shared their fond memories and experiences of their training and stay in India.  They recalled the cultural similarities witnessed and bonds of friendship forged during their stay in India.  They appreciated the efforts of the Government of India through the Embassy in providing such scholarship and training opportunities.

A short clip on ITEC was screened on the occasion.  More than 50 guests attended the event.

Since 1993, more than 300 Belarusians have benefited from ITEC Program.  The entire cost for training under the ITEC Program including the return international airfare, tuition fees, accommodation, emergency medical treatment, stipend, book allowances and study tour are covered by the Ministry of External Affairs.

Every year ITEC Day is celebrated to connect with alumni of Indian Institutions and further strengthen the bonds of educational cooperation.
